Acceptable Community Service
-Attendance at a Samoset PTSA meeting
-Helping a teacher or at a school fundraiser or event
-Any community service activity run by the Sachem Public Library
-Any community service done through civics club or Girls Scouts/Boy Scouts as long as these clubs are not clubs that you use toward your activity requirement
-Helping out at an elementary school activity such as mother/son or father/daughter, community night, etc.
-helping at Safe Halloween
-making PB&J sandwiches or working in a soup kitchen for a religious organization
-volunteering at any non for profit organization
-participating in a fundraising walk (up to 2 hours)
-helping at an animal shelter or adoption event
All community service must be documented on official letterhead. Date community service was provided, time, and total hours must be indicated as well as a signature from the person supervising.
Community Service that will not be accepted
- free babysitting for a neighbor
-free yard work for your family or a neighbor
-helping out at mom or dad or other relative or friends job
-being a helper at a dance studio or for a sports team
-dog sitting that you do for free
-cleaning your room or unloading the dishwasher
